Farmsafe WA Alliance and the Australian Centre for Agricultural Health and Safety (ACAHS) have been working on resources for older farmers - providing ideas on how other farmers have dealt with working 'smarter, not harder' on the farm.
As part of funding provided by the Department of Local Government and Regional Development (DLGRD) Farmsafe WA delivered 'Active Ageing - Farming Over 55' workshops in WA during the 2006-2007 financial year. At a similar time, the ACAHS also facilitated workshops in other parts of eastern Australia resulting in the development of 'The Great Ideas Bank' - a resource for older farmers. In June 2008 an older farmer falls resource was also produced by ACAHS. To obtain more information, please contact us.
The Preventing Falls for Older Farmers resource has recently been released by AgHealth Australia. Click here to see the document.
